You can immerse yourself in the Newbergundian way of living and get chummy with our friendly coffee shop owners and staff!

Chapters Book Store: Chapters Books and Coffee is a cozy independent bookstore and coffee shop located in Newberg, Oregon. With a compelling offering of new and used books, you might just pull up a cozy chair and dive into a new juicy book. Chapters serves Bespoken, Caravan, and Stumptown Coffee – amazing, local roasters who set the standard for ethics and quality in the coffee industry. (Hours: Open Daily 7:30 am – 6pm)

Coffee Cat Coffeehouse: Located across the alley from Uflora Plant House on College St., Coffee Cat Coffee is a family-owned and owner-operated shop with fresh baked homemade pastries, freshly baked cinnamon rolls, delicious bagel sandwiches, locally roasted coffee, and art. Word on the street says they are rolling out a coffee tasting board (yes, like wine tasting but with coffee) soon. (Hours: Mon – Sun 7am – 1pm)

There truly is no shortage of inventory for all tastes and styles in our downtown Newberg boutiques. You can, and you will spend an entire day shopping here. Shop because it’s a day that ends in Y, shop for yourself, or pick up a great gift for a friend, birthday, wedding, or baby shower.

Lineage Newberg: The Lineage space has been passed down (and is fittingly located) in a historic building in downtown Newberg. This combination of family and town history means Lineage is a warm and comfortable environment that welcomes all to explore its distinctive clothing and home collections. Little Bird Boutique: This Boutique was born out of a love of clothing, and their atmosphere provides ample room to explore and enjoy their curated collections of women’s apparel. Don’t be surprised if your eyes go straight to the jewelry and accessory selections. They also have great home décor, candles, and more! (Hours: Mon – Sat 10am – 6pm, Sun 12pm – 5pm)

Nikki Jane’s Boutique: Nikki Janes is the ultimate shopping experience in the heart of wine country. Come see the latest in designer denim, children’s fashion couture, and jewelry galore. (Hours: Mon – Fri 10am – 6pm, Sat 11am – 6pm, Sun 12pm – 5pm)

Pollinate Flowers and Little Lavender Shop: This tiny but bountiful shop is a partnership between two local flower farms: Little Lavender Farm and Pollinate Flowers. From handmade bath salts, dried arrangements and drinking tea bouquets, bountiful custom creations can be found on site. (Hours: Weds – Sun 11am – 6pm)

Pulp & Circumstance: P&C is an eclectic boutique carrying items worthy of any celebration. Located in a Victorian house, within the heart of Oregon Wine Country, Pulp & Circumstance is surrounded by natural splendor. There’s no stone left unturned in their very tasteful selections. (Hours: Open daily 10am – 6pm, and 10am – 7pm Wednesday’s during the Farmers Market)

Uflora Plant House: Uflora is a unique shop offering botanical items and specialized floral design work If you are a serial plant owner, this can be a dangerous place. You may bring home several adopted plants for your home décor. If you are like most of us and struggle to keep indoor house plants alive, they can help you with that too! (Hours: Tues – Sun 11am – 6pm)

Velour: If you are on a strict sustainable shopping diet and enjoy the hunt for pre-loved clothing options that will make you feel like you found your long-lost friend, then make your first stop at Velour. They specialize in vintage, heritage, and handmade clothing and goods that emphasize craftsmanship and a timeless style. (Hours Mon – Sat 11am -6pm)

There are 7 wonderful tasting room options within walking distance of downtown Newberg. We have listed four of them here for you to get a head start on your Oregon wine tasting journey. Social Goods Market has a great variety of local wine, beer, cider, food and even cocktails to enjoy onsite or to-go.  

Anam Cara Cellars: The words Anam Cara are Celtic for “friend of my soul” and represent rare friendships that transcend time and distance. Wine is meant to be enjoyed with friends, so what better place is there to go and sip? Enjoy Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürztraminer crafted from a single, beautiful vineyard in Oregon’s Chehalem Mountains. (Hours: Open Daily 12pm – 5pm)

Chehalem Winery: CHEHALEM means “valley of flowers,” and the name pays homage to the land that so generously produces the wines. Well known for their world-class red and white wines, this vineyard winery is dedicated to creating wines of the highest quality that express their unique origins in both site and vintage. Extended hours can be enjoyed from 5pm-8pm Friday & Saturday. Enjoy wines by the glass, charcuterie & cheese boards, and a relaxing vibe. (Hours: Open 11am -5pm daily with reservation)

Cliff Creek Cellars: Cliff Creek Cellars produces quality, estate-grown wines that will stand the test of time, obtaining local, regional, and national recognition. Crafted from Cabernet Franc and Merlot, their Pink Pink is delicious. Or, enjoy Big Reds including Burgundian Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese. Set in a refurbished Bank, their tasting room offers a bit of history during your Newberg visit. (Hours: Sun – Mon 12pm – 5pm and Thurs – Sat 12pm – 5pm)

Et Fille Wines: Et Fille, which means “and daughter”, was co-founded in 2003 by father and daughter winemakers and is now in its second generation with daughter Jessica Mozeico making elegantly complex wine inspired by her late father’s legacy and daughter’s future. Et Fille crafts wines from their sustainably farmed vineyards in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. (Open on Fri, Sat, Sun from 12-6 pm or other days by special request)

We might be a bit biased, but our local chefs are uber-talented. These tastemakers have been cooking up brilliant cuisine for in-house dining experiences that are sure to delight the “foodie” in you. We have tasted our way through Newberg and have a few tips on where to enjoy a great meal.

Barley & Vine: If you are in search of a quiet little corner of Newberg, with an expansive selection of local & imported wine selections, beer, cider, and tiny bubbles galore, then visit Barley & Vine. Locals go for the Nacho plate, which is appropriately shareable for groups! (Hours: Mon – Thurs 2pm – 10pm, Fri & Sat 12pm – 11pm, Sun 12pm – 10pm)

Good Company Cheese Bar & Bistro: A gourmet food shop and café specializing in cheese and charcuterie, featuring local wines and specialty products from around the world. They stock a robust selection of culinary gift items as well as local wines—many made within a 10-mile radius of downtown Newberg. (Hours: Tues – Sat 11am – 8pm)

Recipe Neighborhood Kitchen: Thoughtfully prepared wine country cuisine set in the charm of an old Victorian house. A la carte fine dining as well as chef’s tasting menu. Beer, wine, cocktails, and “the best patio in Newberg!” (Hours: By Reservation Thurs – Sat 11am – 3pm)

Rosmarino Osteria Italiana: Enjoy an authentic Italian eatery in the heart of downtown Newberg. It’s a perfect place to go after a day of wine tasting, especially if you dine al fresco on their new covered patio! While planning your trip, pre-check the Rosmarino event calendar for their local Winemaker dinner series. (Hours: Thurs – Mon 11:30am – 7:30pm with reservation)

Ruddick/Wood: Northwest fresh wine country cuisine, craft cocktails, local beers, wines, and ciders with a bit of a hipster touch. The menu changes with the seasons and according to what local farmers are growing. Expect a wonderfully diverse menu, great farm fresh salads, and always order the truffle fries “dirty”. If you are visiting during July’s Newberg Lavender Trail activities and events, try the Lavender cocktail…it’s a delicious work of art. (Hours: *Whiskey Weds 4 – 10pm, Thurs 4 – 10 pm, Fri – Sat 11am – 11pm, Sun 11am – 10pm)

Cream Northwest:  Located inside of Chapters Bookstore, Cream Northwest creates homemade ice cream from scratch, in small batches using only the best local ingredients. They are constantly changing their flavors, bringing in seasonal ingredients and have worked with Taste Newberg on a few fun varieties like Honey Lavender! (Hours: Sun – Thurs 1pm – 8pm, Fri & Sat 1pm – 9pm)

Miss Hannah’s Popcorn: From their booth at the Portland Farmer’s Market in 2001 to the first shop opening at Bridgeport Village in 2016, the heartbeat of Miss Hannah’s has always been family. Their family is always dreaming up new fun flavors. Our favorites: Strawberry Balsamic, Cheesy Cheddar, Sea Salted Caramel Chocolate Drizzle! (Hours: Open Daily 11am -7pm)

There are many wonderful places to rest your head in wine country. So many, in fact, that you would be looking for days trying to settle in on “the right one”. If you want to forego the car rental and stick to walking your way through Newberg, we suggest staying in one of these fine locations.
