Eleven years ago Newberg Glass Studio owner Ben got his first torch and glassblowing setup. He proceeded to research extensively online by watching videos and scouring forums for useful knowledge. Early attempts at glass art were very humbling for and resulted in great frustration. Ben came into glass with a big vision – wanting to take his visual art background (drawing, painting, Adobe Illustrator) and translate it into the glass world. This desire led him to embark on a journey, learning both what is conventionally known as possible in the glass world as well as what boundaries he might want to push. Fast forward to now and Ben's had years of experience making all different kinds of things out of glass. It is a medium with never ending possibilities for expansion and growth, and he thinks more and more fellow creatives will encounter glass art as a means of expressing their soul in the near future.
