Weekend Wanderers
Check in to The Allison Inn and Spa for a signature massage treatment before indulging in a tasting menu of handmade pastas at Rosmarino. Wake up to room service from Jory, followed by a round of golf at Chehalem Glenn, lunch in the cafe’s garden beside Coffee Cottage, followed by an afternoon of leisurely wine tasting. End the day with a tasting menu at The Painted Lady, Oregon’s only Forbes Four-Star AAA Four-Diamond restaurant. The next day is all about cultural exploration, with a fascinating visit to the Hoover-Minthorn Museum and a stroll through the antique shops and art galleries in downtown Newberg, capped off with a theatrical or socially-distanced outdoor musical concerts at the Chehalem Cultural Center.

Arrive in Newberg and check in to one of the stylish Yamhill Flats downtown. Walk to a dinner of artisanal pizza and local beer at Honey Pie, enjoyed in their back courtyard. Wake up with local roast lattes, pastries, and bagel sandwiches at See See Motor Coffee Co., a lifestyle moto-centric local brand that recently opened in a former service station. Walk off breakfast by browsing stylish shops downtown like Velour, Lineage, Pulp and Circumstance, and UFLORA. Stop for a snack at the new Good Company Cheese Bar & Bistro in between tasting room-hopping among seven Newberg Downtown Wineries. Pick up crave-worthy tacos at Dos Mundos to take back to your vacation rental for dinner with a chilled bottle of local Pinot Noir rosé, or bring it to the 99W Drive-In for a throwback movie experience.
Pack your bags with the books you’ve been looking for the time to dive into, and make your first stop in Newberg at the adorable new Little Lavender Shop downtown. Pick up bath salts and other aromatherapy products made from local lavender to bring back to your luxurious room at the new Willamette Valley Bed and Breakfast (each room has a two-person soaking tub and private patio overlooking an orchard). Enjoy dinner outside on the patio at Recipe, a quintessential wine country restaurant housed in a historic Victorian.
