Our wines are no longer a secret. But we have plenty of others to discover.
In Newberg, there are natural wonders all around you. The rolling hills and vineyards. Bicycle tours. Alpaca farms. Truffle hunts. Lavender festivals. Camellia gardens (thousands gather each year for our annual Camellia Festival). A bucolic (but surprisingly challenging) golf course. Indoor and outdoor pickleball courts.
There’s also a lovely riverwalk along the Willamette River. A historic walking tour of George Fox University. A vibrant cultural center with a theater and rotating art exhibits. The pristine art deco Cameo theater, and one of the few remaining drive-in theaters on the West Coast. And that’s just within the city limits. A short drive will take you to an aviation museum that’s home to Howard Hughes’ H-4 “Spruce Goose” and the only waterslide that runs through an actual Boeing 747.
Should you choose to take your daily exploration outside of Newberg…
- In under 40 minutes, you can be in Portland for Powell’s Books, a Blazer’s game, a pink box of Voodoo Donuts, and the Japanese Gardens.
- In under 50 minutes, you can find yourself at the Columbia Gorge in a state of awe. The rugged Oregon Coast is an inspiring 90-minute scenic drive. You can tour the Tillamook Cheese Factory, go crabbing, tide pooling, or surfing at Short Sands, the most popular surf spot on the Oregon Coast.
- In just under two hours, you can be at Mount Hood, for snowboarding or skiing or a good snowball fight at Timberline Lodge.
Best thing? At the end of each excursion, waits for an award-winning glass of pinot and then a ridiculously comfortable bed.
